Meditations and Idea Capture

Last night's discussion with Raul was pretty cool. The spirit is working wtihin my life when I am attentive to God's will. When I desire that which exudes virtue rather than that which is grandiose. When I desire something that is good for its own sake and for God's rather than my own grandeur.

I face a lot of temptations from 'influencer' types who are trying to sell an easy life or something. But there are those who are right and have a point. There is stuff to be gleamed.

  • It's important to have a personality - a particularity - to what you do. This has the added benefit of preventing things from scaling too much, but more than that, it ensures that your value is legitimate and makes your business interactions all the more lovely. The creative process is necessarially personal and particular. "A world with 8 billion monopolies" - not that crazy, actually. The common person owning capital would lead to a world of owner-operators rather than centralizing.
  • Consider the unique place you find yourself in and how it can be offered for your fellow man and God.
  • Don't worry about it being sexy.

Raul has a pretty decent - albeit nebulous - idea of building a sort of consortium for catholic creators.

Dan Koe has some interesting stuff. I'm going to dig at that a little more and really think about it.
