7th Day of the Exultation of the Cross
Daily offering
LORD make me receptive to what you are trying to bring forth in me. You know what is best for the salvation of my soul; I a little child and must be obedient to this rather than my own whims. Give me the ability to be content with the little growth you give me each day.
Help me to have true and unabashed faith in you - that you truly came and saved me; that I should, no, must be joyful.

Luke Smith - Imagination is Demonic
LORD, grant me a dreamless sleep
Imagination; dreaming about what 'could be' is detachment from real life. Hm. There's a difference between what 'could be' versus what 'should be' - what 'should be' is tethered to something.
"Having imagination is being spiritually passive" If you have a productive goal and end up fantasizing about it too much, you don't do it When the pleasure of thinking about it > the pleasure of doing it
-> force the pleasure of doing to overcome the pleasure of thinking
We have to love things.
-> quit dreaming and start listening to God. -> quit getting pulled every which way. -> don't spend time in idle fantasy. Act - MVPs, not plans.
Spiritual activity, not spiritual passivity. When you have time alone and you let your thoughts control you, they lead you in really bad ways. You find faults, you get prideful - you don't get those conclusions if you have a constant rapport with people. Even with productive things.
Sh_t Cray with Jonathan Pageau
No center, no common project, nothing to bind us together. We don't have places to come together. We're used to living [and working] in these inhuman spaces.

The stupidest maxim: Form follows function
I find it difficult to find a place... I wanted to make things that had a place in the world. ... diving into the universal language ... Rediscover the christian faith and know that things will flow slowly out of it
Carnival is where we let the weird out... and then that's it.
Nobody's lying anymore.

Lessons learned
Stop fantasizing. Work is good. I enjoyed my 4 hours tonight even if I had to fight things at the makerspace. Travelling does broaden the mind. As I commute and talk with more people, more things seem realistic. It's good to entertain more possibilities - particularly because it gets out of the realm of fantasizing. Perhaps that's the importance of partnership; it forces us to make our ideas manifest, at least in speech, although this can still be circlejerking and incestuous.
Assessments / Deltas
- Not the most effective with time at work. Making better plans of action would help prevent spiraling. I am getting a better sense of how to be effective with my time.
Sins / Missing of Marks
- Didn't stay on task at work. I've left time off my timesheet, accordingly.
- I probably should've said to deb I could help immediately.
Thanksgiving
- This is a great trial period for how to do consulting engineering. I'll definitely learn from what I'm doing here and it'll serve me well if I do anything like this in the future. It's a mindset shift. LORD, thank you.
