1.2 KiB

There are two paths I want to go down. I want to raise livestock and I want to open a repair shop. I'm also uncertain if I should move to accomplish this. I don't need to immediately but we're getting crowded.

Both of these things are answers to my longings, from two different directions. Livestock, from the angle that here is something that is in accordance with the created order, which is rooted in the land. Repair, from the angle that I am good with fabrication, and being able to solve my neighbor's problems, not just my own, not just some soulless corporation, would be excellent.

My questions:

  • Should I form an LLC? Multiple?
  • Should I move?
    • Should I find a spot closer to a good town? I'm liking Lincoln.
    • Should I find rolling land that is lower cost?
  • Should I buy/build a shop?
    • On Moberly's?
  • Should I find way more acres?

My concerns:

  • Is family a help or a hindrance? If they were further, it may be better.
    • It is good to have the resources and connections
    • It is not good to have the drama and anti-innovative attitude
  • Is Illinois the right place to be?
    • Bad government policy
    • Fertile land (not that important)
    • Family connections (from a responsibility standpoint more than anything else)
