Well. I have a fancy new keyboard with all the clicky blue switches. Very cool. Too noisy, perhaps, even.

It's nice to be able to just look at the keys. Not a big screen. Just quietly type.

LORD. Where have you been today?in many places. I'm sure.

What has my heart felt?

Sadness. I would say a deep longing. But really, it's a deep regret. Of having done nothing. Of having wasted my life. Of having not put out. But also, of putting out into the wrong waters. I could have stumbled into the right pastures sooner. But I haven't. I didn't. I'm not there. I don't know the things I'd like to know - about plants, animals, ecosystems, farming, and so forth. But I've also never had a greater desire to than now. I have never desired to know more about this subject than now. Now that I see the blind alley of electromechanical technology.

A thought remains with me, though: the same 'revolution' that is going on with agriculture, with "regeneration"... Is there an analogue with other technology? Or perhaps better phrased, with other fields? "Engineering" is not a field. It is a process, like management or sales.

From that perspective, what other field would you like to work in?

Building / construction?

I muse if we need to bring biology into these "sterile" domains such as building science. I'm not the first to. But what would it mean for our houses to be living things that we dwell in? A garden civilization... It seems only possible in mediterranean climes...

Gosh, this is a nice keyboard. It is a bit loud. The brown switches may be better than the blue, but.... We'll see. Or I need a more solid desk than this one which has a lot of resonance...

Even adding a shirt underneath it reduces the volume a lot which is good.

Clicky clack.

I am unsure of where to begin exactly with my father.

This is not a man I admire.
Not a man I look up to.
Not a role model.

The one virtue he possesses is really a vice: workaholism. He abdictates his real responsibilities to work like a mule. It's not virtue. It's not strength. It's slavery.

Not a good influence.

I need to leave, almost for this reason alone.

But where?
Springfield is a potential option.
Call Slattery.
Go to ACRES.

Reply to that one guy.

LORD, how have I sinned today?
- In not committing to reading or profitous listening.
- In snark at times
- In cowardice; not asking where to go after elevator last round
LORD, how will I do better tomorrow?
- In planning out my listening for tomorrow (John Kempf's podcast, with up to two hours of instrumental music)
- By using clear, diffusive language
- By always asking a question when not crystal clear |
